Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to combine engineering, data analysis, operational partnership, and project management to support safe, scalable, and cost-effective operations across a national network of large-scale distribution and contract packaging facilities.
This role plays a key part in designing and improving warehouse operations, evaluating productivity, implementing mechanization and automation solutions, and driving process improvements that enhance safety, service, cost, and throughput. The position will work closely with site operations, engineering, finance, business development, customers, and external equipment and technology partners.
Location: Hybrid / On-site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with flexibility outside normal business hours when required to support site-level operational needs
Travel: Approximately 25–50%, depending on project and business needs
Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 annual base salary, plus performance-based bonus

Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and identify or report non-compliance when observed.
- Follow all company safety requirements and support safety training, compliance, and enforcement as appropriate.
- Incorporate safety, quality, and regulatory considerations into engineering solutions and operational improvements.
Process Improvement & Operational Support
- Analyze existing warehousing, fulfillment, and packaging processes and recommend improvements to safety, quality, cost, labor productivity, and throughput.
- Develop workflow plans and implementation roadmaps in partnership with operations leadership.
- Support implementation and stabilization of new processes, systems, equipment, and operational changes.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to measure performance against key operational KPIs.
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives across multiple facilities.
- Work closely with site operations to identify bottlenecks, root causes, capacity constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
Analytics & Productivity
- Conduct time studies and related engineering analyses to establish productivity standards and staffing requirements.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with site operations, finance, and business-development engineering teams to establish and validate productivity baselines.
- Measure and track savings resulting from changes to processes, systems, equipment, and operating methods.
- Develop data-driven recommendations that improve labor utilization, equipment utilization, throughput, and overall operating performance.
Network & Facility Design
- Design and update warehouse layouts for new and existing distribution facilities using AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Evaluate and recommend mechanized and automated warehouse solutions that increase capacity and throughput while reducing labor requirements.
- Analyze storage strategies, SKU slotting, zoning, work areas, and material-flow paths to optimize space utilization and productivity.
- Support facility design, capacity planning, equipment selection, and operational readiness for new and expanding operations.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Partner closely with operations management, engineering, customers, and other functional teams to understand requirements and develop practical engineered solutions.
- Work with external vendors and integrators on material-handling systems, automation, and capital projects.
- Support projects from initial concept and requirements definition through vendor selection, implementation, startup, and stabilization.
- Serve as an engineering resource to operations teams during implementation and ongoing process improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering/technical field.
- 4+ years of relevant industrial engineering experience.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS), production management systems, or similar operational technology.
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with operations teams, technical resources, senior leadership, customers, and external vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial engineering experience within a third-party logistics (3PL), fulfillment, warehousing, distribution, or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience with SQL and business-intelligence/data-visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar software for facility layout and space planning.
- Experience evaluating or implementing material-handling equipment, mechanization, or warehouse automation.
- Knowledge of secondary packaging and contract packaging operations.
- Experience supporting large-scale, highly mechanized distribution operations.
