Client Profile

Founded by serial entrepreneur Michael Lahatte, The Lahatte Companies is an eCommerce brand incubator operating multiple DTC brands under the Libertas portfolio. Its flagship brand, MAXL, produces high-quality automotive cleaning and detailing products. The company is on pace to double its revenue in the next fiscal year. With strong DTC performance on Facebook, Instagram, Google, and Amazon, Lahatte is investing heavily in infrastructure, including a new 50,000 sq. ft. Dallas warehouse, to transition from 3PL fulfillment to full in-house distribution.

Role Objectives & Challenges

The newly created Warehouse Manager role was a pivotal hire for this rapidly scaling company. Reporting directly to ownership, this individual would design and lead fulfillment operations, manage inventory, and oversee the transition from 80% outsourced fulfillment to a fully in-house model. Key challenges included:

- Recruiting in a hyper-growth, start-up environment where structure and systems were still forming.

- Identifying candidates with high-volume DTC warehouse experience (10,000+ daily orders) who could build scalable processes.

- Aligning compensation with a fast-moving entrepreneurial culture.

Our Approach to Solve the Search

SCM Talent Group employed a dual-lane search strategy:

- Direct-to-Consumer Track: Targeted operations leaders experienced in managing in-house, high-volume fulfillment for consumer goods brands.

- 3PL Expertise Track: Reached out to warehouse managers at leading 3PLs that specialized in DTC fulfillment for eCommerce brands. Candidates were sourced primarily within the Dallas market to align with the company’s preference for on-site leadership.

Throughout the process, we partnered directly with the CEO to ensure that candidate experience and cultural alignment were prioritized over pure resume matching.

The Hire & Results

The client moved quickly on the first presented candidate, who demonstrated exceptional alignment with the company’s culture, pace, and operational vision. SCM Talent Group continued to present additional candidates to validate the decision, but after five total interviews, the first candidate remained the clear frontrunner.

The search concluded in 45 days, with the chosen Warehouse Manager now leading the operational transition to the new Dallas facility and playing a key role in the company’s continued revenue acceleration.
