Role Objectives & Challenges

The hiring team needed indirect procurement generalists who were experienced across various services, rather than specializing in only one service. Strategic positions were required as backfills for people who left. The company took this opportunity to develop some new ways to perform indirect procurement across the entirety of their organization, which included ensuring that 2300 employees had what they needed to do their job correctly.

Our Approach to Solve the Search

The SCM Talent Group team sourced from a national talent pool, looking for people with indirect procurement or category management experience in comparably sized companies with a generalist background in a variety of categories. Candidates had to have quality communication skills and the ability to balance internal obligations with external relationships to facilitate company-wide growth and efficiency in the area of procurement.

The Hire & Results

Ultimately, two candidates were hired. Working closely with senior Talent Acquisition personnel, we vetted the candidates that we sourced from around the nation. The hiring timeline met the hiring teams’ expectations, and the TA leader advocated for our candidates internally, working quickly to ensure that our slate of candidates were presented in a timely manner to avoid them accepting other competitive offers.
