Role Objectives & Challenges
This was a confidential search as it was a replacement search, so was approached with the appropriate level of sensitivity. We worked collaboratively with the client to target the right skillset and background to bring success to this role. While they needed someone with the right experience across supply chain functions, they also needed a candidate who could succeed in a mid-sized organization where they had to balance big picture strategic work and day-to-day tactical work.
Our Approach to Solve the Search
While located in a metropolitan area, we had to target our search to ensure candidates would be commutable. Additionally, we needed to strike the balance of finding someone who had bigger company expertise and experience that they could bring to the organization, but still feel comfortable rolling up their sleeves and jumping in when necessary. We did this by specifically targeting companies of comparable size. Lastly, the client was flexible with title and compensation for the role, which allowed us to expand our candidate pool after initial outreach showed that candidates at the original target level were not advanced enough for the needs in this position.
The Hire & Results
We had several qualified candidates go through the interview process and they were able to hire someone who brought fresh energy and perspective to the organization. While it was a challenging search, continued partnership and collaboration with the client allowed us to still fill it successfully.
