TireHub is a national tire distributor, formed through the combined wholesale distribution networks of Bridgestone and Goodyear. The company supplies a wide range of tires to U.S. retailers and dealers, positioning itself as a key player in the tire distribution industry.
Role Objectives & Challenges
TireHub's Atlanta office was in the process of setting up its first integrated Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Initially, the role was defined as an S&OP Analyst. However, after consulting with the client, we advised that the position required more than just analytical skills. The job description was modified to reflect the need for a candidate with a stronger operational background, particularly in demand planning, to complement the analytical side. Analytics could be handled by other team members, but the critical aspect was finding someone with deep expertise in planning to fully support the S&OP process.
Our Approach to Solve the Search
We pursued two different approaches to fill the position. The first was to search for candidates with a consumer packaged goods (CPG) background, and the second was to focus on candidates from wholesale distribution. Ultimately, we found that the best candidates came from scheduling, planning, and distribution roles, rather than manufacturing, as they had the most relevant experience for TireHub’s needs.
The Hire & Results
After collaborating closely with the client, we narrowed the candidate pool to two finalists and selected a candidate with extensive wholesale distribution experience. The individual hired came from Aramark, where they held a role as a Master Scheduler. This background equipped them with strong supply and demand planning capabilities, making them an ideal fit for TireHub’s S&OP needs.
This successful placement highlights how our deep supply chain knowledge enables us to not only recruit top talent but also advise our clients on refining their hiring process and defining their true talent needs. This advisory role, combined with our extensive industry expertise, allowed us to streamline the search and find the perfect fit for TireHub.
