Pegasus Logistics Group is a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider that delivers warehousing, fulfillment, and transportation solutions for major consumer brands. The company operates a 750,000-square-foot distribution center in the Dallas-Fort Worth market that is divided into three separate 250,000-square-foot warehouse operations supporting dedicated customer accounts.
As Pegasus continued to expand its customer portfolio, the company secured significant new business requiring proportional expansion and growth. These wins required experienced warehouse leadership capable of managing large-scale fulfillment operations while maintaining exceptional service levels for two high-profile clients.
Role Objectives & Challenges
Pegasus initially engaged SCM Talent Group to recruit a Warehouse Manager to oversee fulfillment operations for a newly awarded pet food account. The role carried responsibility for approximately 50 warehouse associates, two salaried supervisors, inventory accuracy, receiving, fulfillment, and operational performance within a dedicated 250,000-square-foot section of the distribution center.
As the search progressed, Pegasus secured another major customer, creating the need for a second Warehouse Manager with nearly identical responsibilities.
The primary objective was finding proven operational leaders who could immediately step into high-volume distribution environments, build strong teams, and ensure successful onboarding of two strategic customer accounts. While the Dallas-Fort Worth market offers a deep logistics talent pool, identifying leaders with the right combination of large-scale warehouse management experience, people leadership, customer focus, and operational discipline remained critical to the success of both facilities.
Our Approach to Solve the Search
SCM Talent Group partnered directly with Pegasus' Director of Operations to develop a focused search strategy centered on experienced warehouse leaders already managing high-volume distribution operations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
Rather than conducting a broad national search, we accessed the region's concentration of large distribution centers and third-party logistics providers to identify candidates with proven experience leading sizable hourly workforces, overseeing complex fulfillment operations, and supporting demanding customer accounts.
Our team presented a slate of seven qualified candidates. Five advanced to initial interviews, with three progressing to onsite meetings. Throughout the search, we maintained close communication with the hiring team to ensure both technical qualifications and leadership style aligned with Pegasus' operational culture and growth objectives.

SCM Talent Group successfully filled both Warehouse Manager positions, providing Pegasus with experienced operational leaders to oversee two of its largest customer accounts.
